Q: Do your lasers treat all types/colors of hair?
A: Thanks to the technology at Simplicity Laser centers, almost everybody is a great candidate for laser hair removal. We can treat all skin colors and hair types. However, laser hair removal is less effective on clients with red, blonde or grey body hair.

Q: How long does a laser hair removal session take?
A: Your appointment time will depend on the areas that you are having treated. But all body areas can be completed in 30 minutes or less. Because there is no down time with laser hair removal, you can easily get your treatment on your lunch break and return to work immediately. We take care to make sure that we give you a thorough treatment, and that you get in and out of our clinics as efficiently as possible so you can get back to your busy schedule.

Q: How many treatments do I need to have to get the result I want?
A: The average number of treatments needed in order to achieve the full effect of laser hair removal varies greatly from person to person, and also varies between body parts. The majority of clients will end up needing approximately 8-12 treatments to accomplish permanent results. Only Simplicity offers you a straightforward plan that doesn’t leave you wondering how much you’ll have to pay for “touch-ups”.

Q: How does laser hair removal work?
A: The simple answer is that lasers emit a pulse of light, which is absorbed by the pigmentation and blood vessels of the hair follicle. When that light is absorbed by the hair follicle, it is converted to heat, which then destroys the follicle. When the hair follicle is destroyed, it is unable to re-grow hair. Because of the unique properties of each laser wavelength, the tissue surrounding the hair follicle is left untouched leaving you simply smooth.

Q: What types of lasers do you use?
A: Using a combination of Diode, ND:YAG, and Alexandrite laser technologies, Simplicity ensures you a safer, faster and more effective treatment. Most laser centers use one, or maybe two lasers, to treat you. Nobody can offer you what Simplicity can., simply the best results.

Q: Why do I need so many/multiple treatments?
A: Hair follicles transition through active and dormant stages. With each treatment, we will cover the entire skin surface, but only those follicles that are “active” will be impacted. When a follicle is dormant, the laser light cannot be absorbed, and the follicle is left undamaged. Only about 30-50% of your hair is actively growing at any given time, so multiple treatments are necessary to ensure that we treat every single hair follicle.

Q: Is laser hair removal permanent?
A: Yes, laser hair removal is a permanent. Most Simplicity members can expect to achieve 80-90% permanent hair reduction. Hair removal is less effective on red, blonde or grey hair. In addition, hormonal changes can potentially cause re-growth.

Q: Is laser hair removal safe?
A: Absolutely! Simplicity’s lasers are FDA approved for all areas of the body and all skin types. All Simplicity laser technicians are laser certified and receive on-going training. Quality control and re-training is a priority at Simplicity.

When performed by trained and experienced practitioners, side effects from laser hair removal are uncommon. Potential reactions include hyper- pigmentation (darkening of skin) or a histamine reaction (allergic reaction to the heat). Both conditions are temporary and can easily be treated with topical creams.

Q: What body areas can be treated?

Q: Who will perform my treatment?
A: A certified Simplicity laser technician will perform each treatment. The vast majority of Simplicity clinics are located within existing physician’s clinics. This provides an added layer of safety, as a physician is always nearby.

Q: Is laser hair removal painful?
A: Most people tolerate it very well. Many customers have compared it to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Compared to waxing the treatment has very little discomfort. However, everyone’s pain tolerance is different. If you find it to be uncomfortable, we have an over-the-counter topical numbing cream available for purchase.

Q: Should I be worried about radiation?
A: No. There are two basic types of radiation, (1) Non-ionizing radiation, and (2) Ionizing radiation. Hair removal lasers produce non-ionizing radiation, which is simply the radiation of light, and is FDA approved for your skin. Ionizing radiation, which represents x-rays, ultra-violet, and nuclear radiation is a completely different type of radiation, and is not produced by hair removal lasers.

Q: What should I expect after my treatment?
A: After the treatment, the treated area may be red or pink and feel similar to a sunburn. These reactions will resolve within 24 hours.

Q: Can I get treated if I am pregnant?
A: No, it is Simplicity’s policy to not treat women who are pregnant. If you become pregnant Simplicity will simply put your membership on hold until you are ready to begin treatments again.

Q: Is there an age limit on who can be treated?
A: Simplicity will treat anyone over the age of 8 years old, as long as we have parent/guardian consent.
