Dr. Rocco C. Piazza’s Biography
Dr. Rocco C. Piazza, II, knew from an early age he wanted to become a plastic surgeon. His life’s work and education have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to that goal.
Dr. Piazza, a graduate of Lake Travis High School, attended Baylor University where he studied a pre-medical curriculum as a University Scholar with an emphasis in English literature, philosophy of medicine and the Spanish language. In 2001, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude. He proceeded directly to The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston where he studied under Dr. Linda G. Phillips in the division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
He graduated from UTMB with Honors in 2005, and was accepted into the prestigious Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center in Michigan. He participated in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency Program for five years and was a clinical educator with the Michigan State University’s College of human Medicine.
Dr. Piazza has returned to Austin where he works closely with Seton Southwest Healthcare Center providing call coverage in the Emergency Department for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
