The 5 best summer foods for healthy skin

Summer is the time to get outdoors and enjoy yourself, but it's also a very hard on your skin. Here's a list of some of our favorite summery foods that will help you keep your skin looking flawless.

Tomatoes- These bad boys are rich in Lycopene, which protects from UV rays and stimulates collagen production in the skin. They are the ultimate weapons in the fight against wrinkles.

 

Fruits- There are so many different types of fruit out there, and basically all of them have benefits for your skin. Pomegranates have a ridiculous amount of antioxidants, which combat free radicals that cause cancer and damage the skin; strawberries and citrus fruits are loaded with vitamin C, which is helps produce collagen in the skin; pineapple contains bromelain which reduces swelling and inflammation. Basically, fruit just kicks butt.

 

Flax Seed/ Salmon- These foods are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which help to attract water to your skin cells and are also awesome for your heart.

 

Cucumber/ Watermelon- These guys are bursting at the seams with water, which helps keep your skin hydrated, making it more youthful and plump.

 

Dark Chocolate- As if I needed an excuse. Dark Chocolate is perfect for your skin because it increases skin density, which helps to protect from UV rays, as well as increasing blood flow and hydration to the skin. Remember that these benefits all come from dark chocolate specifically though.
